Hi, I’m Ellie — currently Operations Manager at HSL. I joined the business in September 2010 and have been part of the journey ever since. I started out in recruitment straight after college, and while I initially had plans to become a veterinary nurse, I quickly realised this was the right path for me. I’ve grown with the business over the years, developing a deep understanding of both client and candidate needs, and how to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

What I Do

My role covers the full scope of recruitment operations — from streamlining internal processes and supporting the team to ensuring our clients and candidates have a smooth, professional experience from start to finish. I’m focused on service quality, team collaboration, and building long-term relationships that last. Whether it’s improving internal systems or jumping in to solve a challenge, I work to make sure everything runs like clockwork, every day.

Backstory

I always thought I’d work with animals, but life had other plans. I took a leap into recruitment at a young age and never looked back. It turns out, working with people is just as rewarding — fast-paced, full of variety, and genuinely impactful. Over the years I’ve seen the industry evolve and adapted alongside it, building the knowledge and experience that shape how I work today.

I’m process-driven and detail-oriented, but always people-focused. I take pride in being someone the team can rely on — whether that’s for advice, problem-solving, or just keeping things moving. I’m passionate about high standards, open communication, and doing things properly. No shortcuts, no half measures — just consistent, professional delivery.

Life Outside Work

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, cooking from scratch, and catching up with friends over coffee. I’m also a proud Leicester City season ticket holder — win or lose, I’m in the stands every week. Football is my weekend ritual, and it’s where I recharge and reset.
