MAISIE DEAN | RECRUITMENT ADMINISTRATOR
Hi, I’m Maisie — a Recruitment Administrator at HSL. I joined the business after looking for a role where I could combine administration with speaking to people and helping them through important moments in their careers. When the opportunity at HSL came up, it felt like the perfect fit. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and supporting them, and recruitment allows me to do that while helping the team keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
My Role
As a Recruitment Administrator, I focus on creating a smooth, supportive, and professional experience for every candidate. From the moment someone applies, I work behind the scenes to ensure applications are processed efficiently, interviews are coordinated seamlessly, and communication is clear at every stage.
I support the team with the administrative side of recruitment, including organising interviews, preparing offer letters, and guiding candidates through pre-employment checks. My aim is to make the process as straightforward and positive as possible for everyone involved.
My Background
Before moving into recruitment, I worked as a hairdresser and gained my Level 2 qualification in hairdressing. It’s something I still enjoy doing in my spare time, as it’s a role that has always involved working closely with people and building relationships.
When I started looking for a new opportunity, I wanted a role that combined organisation, communication, and helping others. Recruitment felt like the natural next step, allowing me to use my people skills while supporting a busy and fast-paced team.
What I’m Like at Work
I’m organised, approachable, and naturally people-focused. I enjoy speaking with candidates, helping them feel supported throughout the recruitment process, and making sure they always know what to expect next.
Communication has always been one of my strengths, as most of my previous roles have involved working with people and helping resolve issues. I take pride in being reliable, detail-oriented, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
When I’m Not Working
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at festivals, going on long walks to unwind, and making the most of quality time with family and friends.
These moments help me recharge and stay positive, which is something I bring into my role every day when supporting candidates and the wider team.
My Mindset
I believe a great recruitment process starts with clear communication and making people feel comfortable and supported.
My approach is to stay organised, approachable, and helpful at every stage, ensuring candidates feel informed and valued while helping the team deliver a professional and efficient service.
